Roles & permissions
TickTad uses four roles to keep a household organised without over-permissioning anyone.
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything — create and manage tasks, expenses, helpers, invites and settings. |
| Admin | Manage tasks, expenses and helpers, but not change ownership. |
| Member | Create and complete tasks, add notes and lists, and record expenses. |
| Helper | See their assigned tasks, mark them done, and request leave. |
The two-step completion flow
Section titled “The two-step completion flow”Roles matter most in tasks. A helper marks a task done; an owner or admin then confirms it. This two-step flow means work is never just self-reported — it’s verified. See Two-step completion.
Manager-only features
Section titled “Manager-only features”Some features are limited to owners and admins:
- Expenses management and budgets.
- Helper profile, contract, leave and salary.
- Inbox (the universal capture tray).
Members and helpers still contribute — they create and complete tasks, add notes and lists, and request leave — they just don’t manage the money or the household itself.
For the full breakdown, see the Roles & permissions matrix.
